So, what is regret?
Over the weekend during an outing, there was an interactive task at the start, and one of the participants ended with, “So, what is regret?” At the time, it didn't really register with me; however, by the end, the first speaker mentioned that on the same day in 2024, he and several others on this hike had taken part in another hike. Today marks its first anniversary, and they have met up again—it felt very fated. His words stirred up memories for me.
The hike was organized by a school club. I got involved with the club during the summer of 2023 when a girl I liked invited me to join a hike. Naturally, I gladly accepted; everything was planned out, but unfortunately, a sudden advance in the college’s summer project meant I couldn’t participate in that hike.
Later during the vacation, I invited her to hang out; even though we were in the same city, she declined—what a pity. Since then, life got busy and we never had another chance to go out together.
So, what is regret? Not having gone out on a trip with someone I once liked is one of my university regrets.
Marriage
The biggest takeaway from last week was probably clarifying my future choices regarding marriage. However, I haven’t yet organized my thoughts or figured out how to express them. I’ll write about it once I’ve fully sorted out the logic behind my arguments.
I actually wrote an article on this topic back in 2022, but now those ideas seem somewhat immature. It might seem fine on paper, but the reality may not be as simple.
What I’m about to write is the second installment on relationships. After four years of mental evolution, I’m not sure when a third installment will come—this one might even be the last.
Graduation Project Progress
Last week, I completed the experiments and finished the derivation of the formulas in the theoretical section. What’s currently giving me trouble is the background research. Explaining the experiment’s process, results, and conclusions is straightforward, but writing the background is quite challenging without consulting more literature. I still haven’t figured out the best approach and hope to sort it out soon.
Exercise
I didn’t run last week, but I went hiking on the weekend for 13 kilometers, which counts as exercise.
